Hello,

What are the main differences between D365 Field Service and F&O Field Service?

What criteria should be observed when choosing one or the other product?

Many Thanks

Actually that is also partially correct.  F&O also has work orders.  Generally when we talk integrations we go FS Work order to F&O Service Order.

This response is partially correct. FnO has service order functionality which is very similar to work order functionalities but there is no out of the box planning nor mobile functionalities. If you need a field service product for your engineers going on site you should use the Dynamics CE Field Service model driven app and not the FnO service order functionalities. If you just want project or work order cost accounting - you could use the FnO functionalities.

Both have assett management and via the dual write between FnO and Field Service - both are actual setup up to sync one-to-one.

It's like comparing apples to oranges.  D365 FS is more user friendly, has a way better scheduling tool, better mobile tech experience and a lot more.  F&O FS has enterprise asset management (maintenance assets vs. customer asset).  To me, the choice is based on what you are trying to accomplish - goals and objectives and existing pain points.  For me it's simple:  D365 Field Service is easier to implement and configure, a better UI, better scheduling.  I hope that helps (Yes, I am skewed towards D365 Field Service, but to me it's the gold standard for FS in terms of Microsoft products and is the future for FS within Microsoft)
