Hi all!

Some of responses for a survey are completed on paper. There is an option to import data into customer response survey table from excel file?

Thank you

I have the same question (1)

    Hi betlejuice

You can absolutely import data from Excel. See Import data in model-driven apps - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs. You can even use Excel Online and copy & paste.

Now, the complexity of accomplishing this for your scenario, is the Customer Voice data base schema. See Entity Reference for Dynamics 365 Customer Voice | Microsoft Docs. A possibility is to filter all the tables by a specific survey/response/question responses and duplicate it from there. Be careful not to replace the actual response, since what you want is to add new responses. When exporting to excel the first few columns (that are hidden) store the guids of those records, when importing back if there's a guid the record with that guid is updated, for new rows (without guid) a record is created. If you follow that path, you should test this prior in a test environment, for a safer approach you can import data into a test environment and use the available tools to copy data between environments.

As an alternative, depending on the number of responses you have in paper (and also a safer approach), you can enter the answers yourself using the survey direct link. Depending on if it's an anonymous survey and/or if the recipient is just managed by a text field.

Sorry Pedro but.. as far as I know the entities you are referring to, are not operational tables. Customer Voice writes on those tables but it doesn't read from them : I tried to manually change values (questions label) on those entities and there's no effect on CustomerVoice

That is correct. It would not show in Customer Voice as the data flow is one way from CV into dataverse, however it would be available in dataverse and in reporting, either Dashboards or Power BI. The last option, to enter the information on paper into the survey itself, would actually fix that issue and reduce a lot of complexity and potential issues.

    Hi Oscar,

Did you find any solution for this as I have a similar requirement and was trying to import questions and answers from excel to Customer voice response table.

I was also thinking to automate it with powerautomate.

Please let me know if you found any solution to this.

    Thank You

    Hello deb@1987 , betlejuice

I strongly suggest not to write to the msfp entity tables, as they may be overwritten by Customer Voice, and you would loose all your imported data

Best that can be done is to create custom entities and custom reporting

This is the way we did for a customer who needed to preserve surveys coming from another survey platform.

Using customer reporting is not such a bad idea, as ...

Customer Voice doesn't check for duplicate emails for invitation nor it allow to send reminder :

Sending reminder as to be done resending invitation and this would impact the invitations counter.

So importing surveys is a very good occasion to provide specific reporting that would not suffer from those drawbacks.

FYI, we developed a specific Power Apps for the entire life cycle of invitations

    Regards
