ATP shouldn't look at goods that are not yet in Pick/Stock locations

We've got a single site, single wharehouse setup. We've got trucks delivering goods and we book an Item Arrival journal in that case. But while the first pallet gets checked and moved from the "Receipt location" to the stock location, the last pallet might stay a couple of days in the receipt location until it gets moved.

The problem is that ATP (ATP + margin) calculations are taking those goods into account when calculating a delivery date. It sees that stock as available. We don't want that stock taken into account for ATP, only the goods in the other locations. If the stock is in the receipt location, and there is no other on hand stock, we expect the normal lead time + margin to be given as a delivery date.

On the other hand, we do want this stock being taking into account for MRP, we don't need extra planned purchase orders for those product.

Is there a way we can configure AX to get this kind of behaviour without extra development?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I've an idea you could test using the Inventory status dimension (can we use that?), but I'm not sure it'll work, because it might be that ATP and MRP always use the same Inventory dimensions.

Use an item with a Storage dimension group where 'Coverage plan by dimension' is not ticked on the Inventory status line.

Create an Inventory status called 'InReceipt', and set this as the status on your purchase order. Items will be received with this status. When the items are moved from Receipt to the stock location, change their status to Available.

Since 'Coverage plan by dimension' is not ticked for Inventory status, MRP will see the 'InReceipt' stock as normal stock. But I'm not sure if ATP will do the same.

    Hi Guy,

Thanks for your quick response. I tried you suggestion as per your instructions. The good thing is that ATP is not taking that blocked stock into account; but unfortunately MRP isn't  seeing the 'InReceipt" stock at all. Therefore, i'm getting planned purchase orders from MRP, which is not what I want.
