Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding the Update Installer tool for Dynamics AX 2012 R3.
If I run it today, the latest release I can select is the "Most recent", containing all the KBs released before August 19, 2019.
Will there be (and if so, when) an update to this list to include the latest KBs (released after august 2019)?
Thank You
Nicola
Was anyone able to ever receive a newer version of the axutil libraries? We experienced similar issues attempting to install the August 2019 update and applied latest kernel but still are unable to apply the entire August 2019 update. Only a partial install is done though the setup is successful. We have opened a support case with Microsoft but the support reps have been unable to provide us the new axtutil libraries.
It´s a known issue with the expired certificates. Contact the ms support. They can provide you a specific version of the AXUtilLib.dll which doesnt check the certificates.
I'm not aware of any other solution. I'm sure there's someone in your organization who can change the date if needed.
Please be aware that you only need to change the date on dev/test/UAT servers, not in prod, assuming you do the prod delivery of the x++ code via modelstore installation (as Microsoft recommends).
If you find some other solution, please share it here. Thanks!
Unlikely I cannot change the date on the server.
It wouldn't anyway be a proper solution in my opinion.
You could try to set the AOS server date to earlier than 05.02.2020 when you import the model.
Hi everyone,
little update on the issue!
I managed to install the latest binary updates but from the update installer I'm still not able to select the specific KB.
However, if I try to install it directly from Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Management Shell using the Install-AXModel command, I'm still getting an error but this time is different from before.
I searched on the internet and I found out that this error is often related to the certificate of the .axmodel file which is expired on 05/02/2020.
Is there a way to bypass the check on the certificate?
Thank You
Nicola
Thank You Nikolaos :)
I'll try as you suggested and see how it goes.
I'll keep you posted!
Thanks
Nicola
I suggest you to try it. I don't have any definite answer because it's been a while since I played around with AX2012 updates.
At least after installing the binary update you would most likely be able to install the kb model manually. But this could lead to other issues, if the code in the model has dependencies to other stuff, so you would be doing it at your own responsibility.
Hi Nikolaos,
In the update installer I selected both binary and application updates.
I honestly didn't try to update the binary first, because the most recent CU contains all updates released before August 19, 2019 (as shown in the first picture i posted).
Since the KB I need was released on October 20, 2019 I figured that was the reason why it was not showing up in the list.
On the other hand, the link provided by Anup contains indeed the KB, but is not physically possible to select it (practically speaking, there is no checkbox that can be flagged).
Just to be clear and see if we are all on the same page..
when I run the update installer (downloaded from LCS), I can choose from which CU the tool will retrieve the hotfix list and, after that, I can select the individual KBs
Instead if I run the package provided by Anup, the tool will just list all the KBs inside, without the possibility to choose which one to install.
Is it possibile that installing the latest binary updates will change the behaviour of the tool and let me select the specific kb?
Thank You
Nicola
In the update installer, which components did you select for update?
When you install binary updates (all components except "Database" which is the x++ codebase) you can't pick individual KBs, instead the update is always cumulative.
So, perhaps you should first update all binary components to the latest version, then try if you can pick only the one x++ update for installation.
