Hi,
Is there any step-by-step tutorial to import csv file from Microsoft Flow to D365FO?
I set up an import group project, but I am not sure how to find the URL from the import group project.
Thanks,
Hi Yuji
Have you checked MS docs on how to make integrations via Data package API or recurring job? They are pretty well documented.
docs.microsoft.com/.../data-management-api
docs.microsoft.com/.../recurring-integrations

Hi Yuji,
What do you want to import with Flow in D365FO?
Is this a one time import or something that you want to do regularly?
For the latter, Flow might not be the best solution.
Can you also let us know how many data you plan to import?
Many thanks,
Ludwig

As Ludwig said, I don't think it's a good idea if you want to incrementally integrate.
Hope this helps.
Hi Ludwig,
I have a similar scenario, where external application would place a file containing Customer invoices to D365 and I want to import those into D365 using Free text invoice entity. Using Power automate, it would be fairly complex to do this and would be difficult to maintain error logs. What would be the best solution in this case which requires less or no code to be written? I don't want to use Recurring Integration Scheduler.
Baber.
I would recommend Recurring Integrations Scheduler. Why do you not want to use that?
Alternatives would be LogicApps or BizTalk, which are commercial integration platforms with rich capabilities. No coding is needed.
Hi Nikolas,
Thanks for your response. I don't want to use RIS, because it is an on premise windows service that is not scalable and if the File import/export frequency increases in future, it may not be able to handle that. With Power automate, there are D365 connectors available, so I was planning to use this. I am facing issues while importing the file using DatamanagementDefintionGroups-ImportFromPackage action. Have you done anything like this before ?
PowerAutomate is intended for self-service automations flows for business users, not for enterprise scale business critical integrations. You should check LogicApps.
Hi Baber,
You can try to use ftp as file share and LogicApps has standard connector to ftp.
docs.microsoft.com/.../connectors-create-api-ftp
Hi Sergei,
LogisApps incurs additional licensing cost, while Power Automate is free under D365 Finance license use rights. FTP connector is available in Power automate as well, so what's the difference with LogicApps ?
As mentioned, PowerAutomate is not an enterprise integration solution, it's intended for end users.
PowerAutomate is built on top of Logic Apps so there are many technical similarities.
Yes, LogicApps incurs some cost, but it's very small if you use it only to transfer files. You can check the pricing in Azure pricing calculator.
