    Please Check windows eventlog.

is this client pc the only one with that issue?

This might be simply because of the connection time-out. Learn more about how to manage and configure that: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn584639(v=nav.71).aspx

Otherwise, there might be many reasons (e.g., community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-nav-connection-lost-error). Users might even run something that would hang the server totally... As other members suggested, check what is written in the Event Viewer to get more details.

    Hi,

Does this happen while the user working or after the system was idle for couple of minutes?

If the connection drops while the user working, check if the network traffic has any spikes. If so you need to talk with one of the Network admin and fix the connection issues.

if the system timeout after it been idle for couple of minutes, then you need to check the NAV Service. Under the client tab you can find below two settings.

    timeout.PNG

Keep Alive Interval : Specifies the interval (in seconds) between keep-alive messages that are sent from the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Windows client to Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server.

If the Keep Alive Interval is less than the Idle Client Timeout, then system will not timeout even if the system idle more than the defined frame.

You can read more about it on below link : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn584639(v=nav.71).aspx

check windows eventlog on that pc

check local nav client settings: timeout, ...

    check firewall and antivirus settings

check the hardware of that pc: network card, cable if used

run some network tests using following tools: www.raymond.cc/.../network-benchmark-test-your-network-speed

remove the nav client on that pc re-install it
