    Hello Kamran,

Do you need that template for testing purposes or do you plan to use it for something else?

For a live application the upload of mass data through the excel add in is not the best solution and you better go for the export import framework.

    Best regards

    Hi Ludwig,

Actually I want to design a solution for Live application. I want to design an excel file through which user fill all required data in excel sheet and upload in dynamics AX as a sale order, rather than to create sale order and add lines manually.

we do the same in transfer order, like upload transfer order through excel file.

so same solution for sale order I am looking for.

    Regards

    Kamran

    Hello Kamran,

Here is a brief description how this can be achieved

    community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-ax-2012-sales-orders-import-using-excel-add-in

It's already a bit older and things might be slightly different in a R2/R3 environment. However, I think that you can get the idea and concept how this can be realized.

Please do some performance testing before using this in your live environment.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Kamran,

You need to test the performance of this Excel addin.

Also check what happens if you share the Excel template with other users and whether they are able to execute the upload.

If you find that this is not really gonna work for you, consider using the data import/export framework.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
