GP Re-Create Check Stub printing remittance

I've run across something that I've not seen in the past.  The current GP version is GP2018 (18.2.1036) with Mekorma MICR.  Prior to this week users were able to select Re-Create Check Stub in Payables Inquiry and reprint the check with watermark VOID.  This week, when selecting the same function, users received the error 'Not privileged to run this report.'  After much research I found that the SY10700 table had no record of the INQ_FIN_001*.  While inserting the record into SY10700 resolved the privilege error, the option now prints a check remittance as opposed to the actual check copy.

As a side note I found the known issue with upgrading to GP2018 from early versions a script is required to insert security records.  That being said, users were processing this function without error prior to this week and the upgrade was 8 months ago.

Any advice on what needs to happen to re-create the actual check appreciated.

Thanks,

Debi

    Hi Debi,

The 'recreate check stub' button reprints the 'Check remittance', not the actual check.  This is the way it was designed, thus the button is named 'recreate check STUB'.  The only way I know to reprint it in Dynamics GP would be to void it, and then regenerate the payrun again using the same check number when reissuing it.

Sorry I am not able to help further, but this sounds like a customized feature  (or 3rd party product) you had before,  I would suggest to check with Mekorma on that.  I think they may have some features to print what looks like an actual check or voided check.  But there is nothing like that by default in Dynamics GP.  You can only reprint the check remittance by design.

Thanks so much Cheryl.  It was related to Mekorma but the strange thing is the user swears that the Re-create check stub button printed the check preview.  That being said, the check copy format path was missing in Mekorma setup and after I reselected the path the check copy is available for preview from the Additional button.

    Thanks again for the response!

    Debi,

The Re-Create Check Stub button is a GP button.  MICR has a check preview option in Setup that shows a reprint of the check with the watermark on it.
