Purchase Requisition Item Price

Hi All

I was under the impression that the item price could not be change on purchase requisitions for standard items (released products)?

If I raise a new consumption PR and add an item, the price is brought through from the trade agreement. All OK and I cannot change the price.

However if I submit the PR to workflow, once the workflow engine has started and the PR is 'in review' if I edit the line I can change the price !!!

How can that be correct? The workflow is still running - my workflow is setup for review only (no approval necessary) and waiting for me to click 'complete'.

Not sure if this is a bug - I am using the latest release of D365FO.

Thanks in advance

    Hi Miller,

This is not a bug. This is because PR is also integrated with RFQ (Request for Quote). During workflow, you can create and send RFQ. Once you get the reply from vendor and  you accept a bid, the price gets updated with the price of the accepted bid. This can also be overridden or manually updated and then approved.

The preparer of PR need not have update option but the approver will surely have to override.

    Hi Sumit

I suppose that kind of makes sense. It just doesn’t feel the right place in the process to be updating the price. I actually tested on two screens and it was possible to have the PR open in edit mode on one screen and approve it on another. Then change the price on the first page and save. It makes the approval process a bit useless if someone approves at one price and someone simultaneously changes the price elsewhere.

It’s interesting because I have been asked if it would be possible to change the price of an item when it is entered (before the PR is submitted to workflow) which I believe you can’t do without customisation?

    Hi Miller,

Well the process is for the preparer to prepare the PR and then orderer can review. if you wish, you can configure "Review purchase requisitions" task in workflow and assign that to orderer or preparer who can then modify the prices. You need not customize the code.

I think that will work :-)

    Thank you

    Dear colleagues,

Were there any updates in D365 FO, because right now I'm not able to edit any price in PR line with Item even when line status In Review.
We need to setup process when Requester who creates PR should be able to input preliminar price before we selected supplier and got an agreement. So I thought that if he can't do this during creation of PR at least he will be able to do this if we assign to him first step of WF to review and update price. But this do not work because all lines are blocked.

Can you help me with that?
