Preventing the update on the page

In the customer table we added a flag called Registered In VAT. We to prevent the update of the record if the flag was true and the Gen. Bus Posting Group of the customer was "Foreign". Should we do It on the page or table level and how?

Also, generally, it is a better policy to put code to the tables instead of pages, if there is a choice.

Hello ckassar,

Better Idea add code in OnModify Trigger on table customer.

See bellow

OnModify()
IF ("Registered In VAT") AND ("Gen. Bus. Posting Group" = UPPERCASE('Foreign')) THEN

ERROR('You can not update');

//Here UPPERCASE i used because in Page automatic updated in upper case.
