Replacement of assets doesn't work

Hello,

as we are working on the transition to real time marketing we also want to integrate in our mailings direct downloads of assets (e.g. PDF). As these documents are updated several times in their lifecycle it is necessary that in the library assets are simply replaced with newer versions. I have tried it several times but it does not work.

To replace an asset I followed these steps in real time marketing library:

  1. Select the asset.
  2. Select Upload file in the command bar.
  3. Select a new asset.
Actually the document was overwritten in the library but in the mailing where the asset is used the asset was not overwritten. So it is still the old version of it.

Can anyone help with that?

Thanks and kind regards,
Tanj

Sometimes, cached data can lead to discrepancies between what's shown in the library and what's displayed in your mailings. Try clearing your browser's cache and then refreshing the page where you're viewing your mailings. This might help ensure that the latest asset versions are loaded.
Ensure that the mailings you're working on are correctly referencing the assets from the library. If the asset is still showing the old version, it might be because the mailing is still linked to the old version. Check the settings within your mailings to verify which asset version they're using.
Make sure that the assets you're replacing have the same naming convention and identifiers as the ones they're replacing. Dynamics 365 might use identifiers to link assets, so any discrepancies could lead to confusion.
Even if the asset in the library is replaced, you might need to manually update the content in your mailings to reflect the new asset version. Double-check that the asset references in your mailings point to the correct asset, especially if they're embedded or linked.
After making changes to your mailings, ensure that you're publishing or updating them appropriately. Sometimes, changes might not take effect until the updated mailing is published or reloaded. To troubleshoot further, you can create a new mailing and reference the updated asset to see if the issue persists. This can help isolate whether the issue is specific to the original mailing or a more general problem.

    Replacement of assets doesn't work
    Hi Partner,
    As the following documentation said:
To ensure that you see the newest version of the asset after it's replaced, clear your browser cache and refresh the browser window.
I didn't see the new version of the replaced document in the email at first either, and when I opened it in my browser's privacy mode, the new version showed up.
So you can try to clear browser cache or use privacy or change another browser to test it.
I hope you can verify my answer if it helps you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
    Regards,
    Leah
