Hi,

We have a requirement to download an excel file which is a template for the user to download and make changes. we have the excel placed in a sharepoint path and on click of button we wanted to download the excel from the sharepoint path. Any suggestions on how we can achieve this requirement. we are using D365 onpremise version. Tried with couple of options using anchor tag download but it doesn't support IE browser.

Any help is highly appreciated !!!

Thanks David for the reply. our requirement was to download instead of navigating user to the url. Anyways, we tried to mimic same as crm download and got it working .

Can you create a custom field with format = URL, and store the url of the file in that field ? Then the user can just click on the link to access he file
