Number sequence range

Hi,

In D365FO, the largest number allocated is 2147483647.

If I put a number greater than 2147483647, and I will get an error

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"The value is not within the range. Acceptable values are in the range 0 - 2147483647."

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Is there any way to increase this?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Yuji,

Highest field of the 'NumberSequenceTable' is  integer  data type, Since integer (int32) range is 2,147,483,647. that's the max limit you can use.  Adding another fields with int64 and changing references everywhere in place of current 'highest' field referring is might involve more effort and end up with complications.

    Best regards

    Guru

    Hi Yuji ,

Where did you get this error.

If it's just for number sequence, can you try another sequence?

Please have a look a this old thread:

    https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/microsoft-dynamics-ax-forum/298790/the-value-is-not-within-the-range-acceptable-values-are-within-the-range-0-2147483647?pifragment-96834=1#responses

EDT (int64) can be created if necessary.

But it's not a good way, there will be many kinds of extensions involved.

    Hope this helps.

You have reached the limit. Create a new number sequence for that.

    Hi Yuji,

Is this a theoretical question or do you have an issue with a customer production environment. What exact process is this number sequence related to? You can actually create a new number sequence with a prefix to make the new records unique.

    Hi Andre,

This is a true customer requirement. We estimate some number sequences may run out in 4 years.

No problem, simply create a new number sequence (with a different prefix, for instance) and use it instead of the old one. If you have many numbers in this sequence, you may want to use a separate sequence for every year.

As Martin suggested, change the prefix every year and you will never run out of numbers.
