I get "An error occurred while retrieving applet and resource registration information, please contact your server admin " when using "open in" excel add in through VM dynamics 365 VM .v. 10.0.5 .
Any suggestions ?

Have you tried with system admin permission.
For me it was a new role that we are testing to deny access to export to Excel. Issue solved once granted access to

I have tried to open excel and run add on to connect AOS server but its same issue , do you have VM and does it works for you on v.10.0.5?
Not yet I also tried older VM on V.8 and it has same issue .

Can you use the add-in with a new blank excel?
Can not find the similar error. If can not solve it, suggest you download a new VM.
