Can not change Base Unit of Measure

I want to change the unit of the item but it shows the error "you can not change Base Unit of Measure because there are one or more open ledger entries for this item." What can I do to make it happen?

Hello,

Try entering an Item Journal with entry type of Negative Adj. to zero out the balance of the item's inventory balance. This should allow you to change the UoM. Then enter another Item Journal for a Positive Adj. to put the inventory balance back to what it previously was.

once you have transactions on an item, you cannot change the base uni of measure. You could deactivate this item, and create a new one with the correct unit of measure

I would have added to make sure that you've run Adjust Cost after the item journal and before changing the base unit of measure.....

And just to add to that. You should also pay attention to the cost value when you do these kind of adjustment transactions or you can up with an unintentional gain or loss from this procedure.
