We entered a transaction into the Fixed Asset Reclassification Journal.
The transaction reclassified successfully.
In the resulting Fixed Asset G/L Journal, however, we get the following error upon trying to post:
There is a reclassification salvage amount that must be posted first. Open the FA Journal page, and then post the relevant reclassification entry.
In the first place, we had to uncheck "Reclassify Salvage Value" in the Fixed Asset Reclassification Journal just to be able to successfully reclass.
This asset doesn't even have a Salvage Value.
Why are we getting this error message, then, in the Fixed Asset G/L Journal? And, why do we have to uncheck "Reclassify Salvage Value" in the Fixed Asset Reclassification Journal?
What was/is the depreciation ending date that you had setup against the asset?
