How and when to use Fields or Flow Fields?

Hi ,

I am a newbie in Dynamics NAV reporting, recently, I am working on a Dynamics NAV 2015 and JetReports. 

I found two types of fields with different tables.

Say, Invoiced Quantity field available on both Field section and Flow field section on Value entry table, Item Ledger entry table.

I am a little bit confused when to use which fields. Is there any guideline.

Same issue for Sales Amount(Actual).

    hi,

    FlowFields display the result of the calculation described in the "CalcFormula" Property (calculated  data container);  Field is "Phisical" data container.

    Thanks Roberto for your reply.  

    My understanding, we are going to use Flowfields for summarizing or calculative data. For actual we have to use Field container data.

    Yes, you are right.  The actual values are stored in the standard fields.
