Merging Party Id's across multiple entites

Hello all,

I had a questions about merging multiple party ID's

In our setup our vendor table is not shared across entities, but we have a shared global address book.

So if we created a Party ID A - Vendor A in Corp 1 and Party ID B - Vendor B in Corp 2.

Now I want to merge Party ID B into Party ID A; and keep the new structure as

Party ID A - Vendor A in Corp 1

Party ID A - Vendor B in Corp 2

Can I do that?

    Dear BigRedH,

In AX 2012 , You can we merge party id corresponds to same Address Name, exist in different companies

Home>Common>Global address book> select record and merge >> and click on merge records then it will ask that you want to merge these two or more in which account. >> Select the account and click OK.

    Hi BigRedH,

The above answers will help you. As a result of this merging it will change only the party reference on related tables. It will not change the vendor ID's or change any other setting of these vendors. So indeed the result will be as you required:

    Party ID A - Vendor A in Corp 1

    Party ID A - Vendor B in Corp 2

Thanks Prashant, I was able to finally setup something to test this, it doesn't restrict in merging different Party ID's with different names either; so it works

Thanks Andre', thats exactly what we are planning to use it for; since we are not sharing the vendor table, we can merger duplicate vendors into the same address book Party ID
