Year end close: How to "undo previous close" since updating to 10.0.25

We recently posted some adjustments to fiscal 2021 and need to undo the previous year-end close and run a new year-end close. Since running the last year-end close, we have updated to D365 FO version 10.0.25, which included "General ledger year-end enhancements - specify balance sheet dimensions and year-end close micro-service." It seems as part of that update that I no longer have the option to "undo previous close" prior to running a new fiscal close. See relevant screenshots below:

Before the update:

After the update:

I see a new screen which I understand should be where I see previous fiscal closes, reversals, and have the ability to reverse previous closes, but it is all blank. I assume because the last close was run before the update that they don't appear on this screen? (see screenshot below):

My question: How do I undo the previous close now? Will it automatically reverse the previous close if I run a new close?

I have the same question (0)

Once you run the year close and you want to reverse then just select the last run and click on "reverse year end close" shown i your screenshot as well just above check box

"If the accounting manager wants to reverse the year-end close, they can select the most recent fiscal year for the appropriate legal entity and choose the Reverse year-end close button. The reversal will delete the accounting entries for the previous year-end close, and will not rerun the year-end close automatically.

You can rerun the year-end close, by restarting the process for the fiscal year and legal entity. The process will continue to use the General ledger parameter setting to determine whether the year-end close rerun will account for only the new or changed transactions, or completely reverse the previous close, rerunning the process for all transactions."

    Hi Mscarano,

As Saurabh said, to reverse the year-end close, select the most recent fiscal year for the appropriate legal entity and choose the Reverse year-end close button. And you can rerun the year-end close by restarting the process for the fiscal year and legal entity.

About the previous fiscal closes don't appear on this screen maybe because you didn’t select the Show reversed checkbox in your screenshot. After you run the Reverse year-end close process, you might have to select the Show reversed checkbox to see the record.

The other questions can be answered in the following documents:

Hope my answer can help you.

    Best regards,

    Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, checking the "show reversed" box does not change anything in the production environment:

I ran a few tests in a sandbox environment where I was experiencing the same issues, and it appears that running a new fiscal close (without running any reversals beforehand) automatically reversed the previous close that was run prior to the update to 10.0.25. I posted a journal entry and ran trial balances for the subsequent period before and after running the close and also spot checked a few transaction-level GL account details for balance sheet accounts which seemed to confirm this. After running the new fiscal close, I then was able to see previous fiscal closes and reverse through this screen (see screenshot below).

Screenshot from sandbox environment after running tests:

I was hoping to confirm that this is the approach I should follow (just running a new close) since I am unable to manually reverse the previous close that was run prior to the update.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../awareness-between-ledger-settlement-year-end-close

Go to Feature Management and disable "General ledger year-end enhancements" to restore old menus.

*EDIT* I've confirmed with our controller that disabling this feature allowed us to reverse the previous year end close done in 10.0.22.
