Hi there:

I have a user with a local install of 2009 R2 Classic, and when she tries to preview a custom template report, she get the familiar "Could not create an instance of the OLE control or Automation server identified by

GUID={1A26D7E7-F24E-4AC8-A774-11721379F68F}..." This exact GUID every time.

So, I know enough to check the registry to find the GUID to find out which dll is not registered. But, that GUID does not exist in the registry. So, I ran a repair; no good. I un/reinstalled; no good. She has on older desktop at her workstation where this is not an issue; running the same preview via RDP instead of local also works; so it's not a roles issue.

Any ideas would be awesome. Anyone know which dll that particular GUID refers to? Google doesn't.

Did you restart the the client after uninstall?

If not please try the same.

Man, I was smacking myself on the head for not thinking of that! But, I can't find that GUID on the terminal server, the NAV server, nowhere. Great idea, though. Thanks

Please search for GUID in the RDP server and you'll find it on that computer. Copy the dll and register it on her local computer.
