HI All,
Anyone can tell me the maximum Legal entity can be created in AX?
Lake example DAT, COA etc.

Hi Gopal RC, I am not aware of any max count feature that would prevent you creating new legal entities. The only limiting factor is to my knowledge the size of your database and your technical infrastructure. All the best, Ludwig
Thank you for reply.
Above two factor means a lot.
Hi Gopal,
Theoretically there is no limitation. Currently I'm at a project where over 2000 legal entities are created. We now face an issue using a combination of Address book security, Organization hierarchy for security and a select statement across legal entities. This issue is at this moment at Microsoft to deliver a fix.
The only real limitation would be the number of combinations you can make with 4 digits for the data area ID.
Hi André,
I believe above content is correct, the string size of DataAreaID is 4, As nPr we go with 9999 possibilities.
Can you brief me about an "Address Book Security,Organization hierarchy for security and a select statement across legal entities".
Thank you for Valuable Answer

Can you briefly explain about the issues as we are also in the process of implementing AX 2012 R3 to multiple countries , your issues would really help us to understand before go -live ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Two requests to share some more information about the issue I had to troubleshoot at a customer. Well, here is a summary.
The issue appeared after we enabled address book security. At that time there were some hierarchies created for security. One contained over 1600 legal entities. e.g. an accountant could access about 90% of the legal entities; not all. When trying to mark an invoice for settlement in a journal the AOS crashed without any notice. This appeared to be reproducable. When granting access to all legal entities the AOS did not crash anymore on this point. Also it continues working when the address book security is disabled again (security again enabled for the 90% of the legal entities).
We found out that a crosscompany statement with the combination of a very large number of legal entities assigned to a role and the address book security (XDS) caused this issue. I will save you from all details for now, but we found this to cause the crash also with dome tracing tools. A register entry setting can prevent the crash, but the user will then receive an error in AX and still cannot vontinue working. Microsoft is now working on a solution. Current status is that they are internally testing it.
If you have less than 1000 legal entities, I think there is really no problem to encounter.
