Hi,

Need to create a role,  to allow users only to update/add/edit vendor contact information on the list page.  all the other fileds should be non editable.  Could you please help?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Chirani,

You can leverage "security diagnostics for task recording" option to find out how you need to configure security. In order to find out how to use "security diagnostics", please refer link below:

    Hi Chirani,

The security diagnostics for task recording is not helping you with this requirement. The tool can record menu items opened not all details present on a form to interact with. Can you tell what exact form/menu item you are referring to (what is your list page)? I have done a similar scenario is the past. The possibility is depending on other features to be executed by users having this role. Will the users only get this role with this form and no other security roles with other duties/privileges?

    Hi Andre,

Thank you very much for your reply.

There will be another role assigned to the user but those roles will have VendTable read access.

    Thank you again.

    Hi Chirani,

I will try to recall what I did at a customer long ago... That was related to the global address book form. I thought, I had created a new privilege and provided full access on the menu-item. Then using table permissions on the same privilege, I did restrict access (set to read only) to all tables used on the form as datasource; except the table which was allowed to change.

Thank you Aundre. Yes this is the way to do.

Hi, would it be possible for you to write down exactly how you solved this? Menu items and tables used and their access? I'm struggling with the same question but haven't been able to find a solution.

    Thank you!

    Best regards
