Modify the Dual Write link with another linked environment.

Hello,
I am currently setting up a Dual Write connection between a D365 CE environment and FinOps.

To do this, I created a FinOps VM in Update 40, into which I integrated the database from our production environment.
When creating this VM, I added the Power Platform Integration option.

I also recreated a D365 CE environment in Dataverse by copying the production CE database. Now, I want to connect these two environments using Dual Write. Specifically, I want to connect the FinOps environment created in the VM to a CE environment other than the default one.

I am well aware (as per Microsoft's documentation) that integrating Power Platform in LCS automatically creates a free CE environment. However, according to Microsoft's documentation, it is possible to change the linked CE environment. The documentation on this point, though, is quite brief.

Indeed, it is mentioned that by setting “Use a different Power Platform environment” to Yes, you should be able to choose between existing CE environments. However, I cannot find this setting either in LCS or in the Power Platform admin center.

Here, I would like to have the option to choose with another CE (CRM) D365 environment:

Thank you :)

    Thank you for your response.
Last night, I created a new VM in the cloud without integrating Power Platform. I thought I could add the DW link afterward, but I saw in the Microsoft documentation that this isn't possible.
So, I will recreate another VM, using Power Platform integration (as I initially did). However, I am not sure if I will be able to select the related Dataverse environment afterward.
To be continued. (The VM creation process is very, very slow...)
I will get back to you when I have more information.
    Thank you.

    Hi,

Being a cloud hosted environment, you need to redeploy the environment create/attach a power platform environment right from the initiation phase.

Sorry! I didn't spot you are using a CHE developer environment.

I don't have the ability to deploy one right now, and I cannot picture what it looks like in recent versions. But this link that might help you: Unlink and relink dual-write environments - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

    Hi NicoGrif,

My French is really bad, but it looks like you have already provisioned a Power Platform environment from LCS, so it's not possible to change it from the UI.

It should look something like this:

You will have to redeploy the environment, or create a SR to have Microsoft remove the link, unfortunately )-:
