Is there a way to enter comments/notes/description for a Customer/Vendor? (Ex, comments on the customer/vendors follow-ups, credit checks, etc.)

    Howdy Jonathan,

While playing in my Finance and Operations instance I determined that you can add Notes, and Comments to Customers in the Sandbox environment.
Currently in the production instance we can only add Comments through Contact Interactions.
When you create an interaction on a Contact you can immediately add a comment to the interaction.
To view old interactions you can click on the Interaction Log and then select the interaction and press the NAVIGATE Tab to show the comment action.
Perhaps someone else knows of some additional way to add Comments or Notes.

    Hi Jonathan,

We are adding the ability to do a document attached on master records (customer, vendor, item, etc) and that would allow you to add any type of note or description to the customer or vendor. The functionality will be out within the next month or two.

    Hi,

Do you have an update when this will be available?

on the customer/vendor/items there currently isn't option to add Comments.  the Ribbon does not have the Comment option.

if you could provide an update on when it will be available that would be great.

    Hello,

The document attachment functionality has been added to Business Central. If you select a Customer, a new option in the ribbon called Document Attachments is available. It is not under Comments but rather a new option for Attachments. This allows you to attach any type of document to a customer, vendor, item, fixed asset, job or employee.

    Hope this helps.

The document attachment ability is great, but this is not the same as comments. It would require the user creating a document, saving it and then uploading it as an attachment. That's a lot of work... what about Office 365 users who only use the online apps?

I concur.  This is pretty rudimentary.  Don't understand how this type of functionality isn't available out of the box.

Create Notes function is missing in BC Cloud.

We used to send this note to the other users to get them  act on next step e.g. PO is created, need Finance to process prepayment invoice etc.

Now user has to send separate email to Finance..

When could this function be made available?  fyi. BC on Premise has this in RTC..

There is a plan to release the notes on October 2019.
