Please need help on how to create another excel budget upload template in Dynamics AX 2012 RTM. The current one being use give lots of errors and most times upload is tried several times before being successful.

When I tried to create another template using some of the documentation available for AX 2012 R2 ( I couldn't find any on RTM), starting from the document data source, I received the below error message. This when I tried to un tick the 'Activated' for the existing one and tried to create another one.

Also, I need help on how or where  I can find the original budget upload template file that comes with AX 2012 rtm

    Hello Fade,

Is there a chance that you upgrade to a newer AX2012 version?

If your template does not work, you can try rebuilding it; that is, creating a new one.

Here is an older blog post that might help for that

Yet, the error does not seem to be directly related to your template but the data. Seems that you have already uploaded some records and thus get the message that the record already exists.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thanks for your response.

I've been to this site before my post and tried to follow the steps but it does appear my AX 2012 rtm doesn't have some of the features on the display. For instance my Dynamics tab in excel doesn't have the Options icon in the configure ribbon. So following the steps sequentially is hindered.

Moreover, the process appears to be creating worksheet for upload in an existing template whereas what I am looking to doing is creating a new upload template from which new worksheet can now be created. I don't know if it is possible for me to create new upload template but this is what my users are asking for.

Any advice on what else I can do

    Thank you.

    Fade
