Hi,

I found a strange issue in CRM 365, is it CRM bug?

When i cleared value in any mandatory field, tab out and again placed my cursor on the same field, auto save triggred and saved the record without value.

Image1: Account record with name

Image2: I cleared name, tab out and again placed cursor in same field. It showed unsaved changes at bottom right.

Image3: Autosave triggered and saved the record without value. After refreshed it showed as new account.

Regards

Krishna

    Hi Aric,

    Thanks for ur reply!

I saw this issue on my custom entity then tried it in other entities like Account, contact...etc.

This can be reproducible in all the entities, so nothing with the scripts.

Could be a bug with autosave in this verison. There was a discussion on linkedin about a week ago where autosave would also bypass onsave handler somehow in V9.. not sure of the details and don't have the link now..

That should not be the case. Possibly a bug.

    blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../manage-auto-save

    The following paragraph describes this:

During the save, if there are any validation failures, such as invalid data, or missing required fields, etc. that prevent the save, then an error message will show at footer panel below and the auto save will not proceed.

Are there any other scripts on your form, save event, business rules that might cause this.

If not, you can follow Francesco's recommendation to disable autosave.

    Hi Bala,

    please refer to this page:

    Autosave is a bad practice.
