Does the latest version of GP still have a browser based time sheet entry module? I just installed GP 18.3.1200 and I see project accounting but PDK is no longer listed. If it still exists I am looking for the installation guide.

Hi Richard,
Yes, you can track time for salaried employees against projects, but sounds like you have an invalid pay code. Can I kindly ask you to open a new forum thread for the new issue and include the error message word for word? It is helpful to readers to have one issue per thread. Thank you in advance.
Is it possible to track time for a salaried employee against projects? I was testing entering a time sheet for a salaried employee and I am immediately greeted with the message that this pay code is not valid for this employee ID. All I want is the time against a project. No financial posting needs to occur.
Hello Richard,
The only way Web Client is available externally, i.e. truly over the Internet, is if you're using a third-party certificate to install it with, such as from GoDaddy, Verisign, etc.
Self-signed certificates or those created via Certificate Authority are not able to do this, without the user VPNing into the network and accessing Web Client that way.
Dynamics GP doesn't have a truly online version of itself, like Dynamics CRM, Dynamics AX, etc.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
But the web client is an intranet application. I need users to be able to enter their time from wherever they are without first logging into their domain. I was hoping I could simply add it as a website to our existing IIS server.
Yes, you can do this using Web Client. Users can log in and submit the timesheet. Users can be set up as self service users.
Thank you Cheryl, I will look these over. Is it possible to setup an outward facing web portal so users can go into their browsers and enter their time and expenses from remote locations? They are currently doing that through an application that is no longer supported so we need to switch.
Hi Richard,
Yes, Project time and expense (PTE) has been moved into Workflow in Dynamics GP. Here is a blog article that you can watch for an overview.
The documentation can be found at these links::
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 – PTE Employee Expense User guide
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 – PTE Timesheet User guide
Hope this helps.
Thanks
