Multiple Unit of Measure - Same Item, Different Vendor

Dynamics AX 4.0 SP2

Can someone help me understand how I would enter the same sellable item that we purchase from different vendors that has different purchase units of measure? I thought I could do this through the trade agreement, but the purchase order form always seems to default to the UOM that is set on the item master purchase order setup.

Thanks,
Andrew

    HI

If the UOM is different than what mentioned in the tradeagreements make sure u created unit conversion with base unit that is mentioned in the tradeagreements.

    Hi,

    In Ax-09

Go to item details-> select the item -->Setup--> unit conversation--> cltr+N --> select the item UOM from unit ( each) to To unit ( BOX).

Example: if i want to change the item UOM EACH  to BOX

from Unit (Each) and TO unit ( BOX).

    Click Save.

    Done .

    Regards,

If you have a different UOM in teh TA when you alter the UOM on the purchase order line it will pick it up. What you cannot do is define a default UOM for purchasing based upon the vendor selected (I believe)

    Hi all,

What if you have different unit of measurements and their conversions are also different like i order in one unit convert it in different unit as i have to pay in this and issuance is also in different unit. then how would it be handle in AX 2012?

No issue with any of that, set up unit conversions and add it to the appropriate transaction. Not sure why you order in one unit and then pay in another, makes the matching more difficult - never heard of a scenario where you order in one unit and the invoice is issued in another - why does the vendor do that?

I would recommend using catchweights in this instance - a dual unit of measure process.
