When I attempt to open the customer form in a new installation of AX2012 R3, it causes the AX client to shut down.  The event log displays the error below.

.Net Runtime EventID 1026

Application: Ax32.exe

Framework Version: v4.0.30319

Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

Exception Info: System.AccessViolationException

Stack:

at <Module>._wWinMainCRTStartup()

I have tried opening the form on two different clients, as well as directly from the AOT and all tries crash.  The form is not customized and the application is fully compiled and CIL generated.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have some further info.  Both client installs that are crashing were installed after ax2012 R2 was removed. The issue does not occur on a client that is completely fresh. I believe that I uninstalled all components, but I will try a reinstall.  Is there any kind of a registry cleanup that I can do to make sure all traces of the old app are gone?

The problem is still occurring after a full reinstall of the AX Client and all components, plus a reinstall of .net 4.5.

Does anyone have any ideas about what else to do?

    Hi,

You can try to find AX User Cache files on the client PC's and delete them.

Delete all ".auc" files from the users\\Appdata\ directory folder.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly, I forgot to mention that I have tried that. I also made sure to delete the cache before the reinstall.

Issue is resolved.  First, I deleted all user usage data. Then removed the cache!

    Hi..

I am also facing client crash issue on one of our server for all the users. As soon as user try to open Development Workspace (Ctrl + D), client is getting crashed. I tried to clear usage data and cache, but no luck.

    Appreciate help and support.

log in AX  as administrator. Go to "System administration > Common > Users > Users". Select the user and click "Options".

Click on "defaut value". Click on "Usage data" button, and on"General" Tab, click "Restore".
