Trigger NAV Testing Tool with help of Webservice

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

For testautomation we want to execute test suites at the testing tool via webservice from a 3rd party tool.

Actually we facing two issues:

1. Acutally we're getting the error that the message handler is not allowed for webservices.
If we comment the message handler out its working fine, but we would have to create all test twice

2. If a suite name is > 25 characters (and < 30 characters) (which we hand over to the webservice which then triggers the standard testing codeunit) we get an overflow error message - that only 30 characters are allowed...
Till today we didn't figured out how NAV hands the name of the codeunit-function over to the testing-codeunit - seems to be some hidden function

Questions to the community:

  1. Did someone already tried to trigger the testing tool via Webservice?
  2. Does someone has an idea to get rid of issue 1 + 2?
