Hello, is it possible to reuse the license plates in D365? we have trays and tables as license plates.

I tried to use Movement via WMS app, scanned a LP, item and tried to move it onto an empty license plate, however i keep on getting an error saying location or license plate is invalid.

My location profile does allow LP tracking, Allow mixed items and mixed inventory statuses too.

Not sure where I am going wrong.

Reuse of license plates

Good day,

It should be possible. Is the target license plate in the same warehouse? Does the target license plate has already on-hand inventory?

Reuse of license plates

Hi,

In addition to the reply from Laurens, check if there is an open financial amount on the license plate. In case you are using an actual inventory costing model such as FIFO, LIFO, weighted average, an inventory close can settle amounts and close the license plate and makes it available again.

Reuse of license plates

Hi

If you are using license plates to represent the physical containers and you have labelled them with manual license plate number than you need to make sure these fresh license plates are first tagged to the location.

When you create a fresh license plate it does not automatically is available for the movement. While you are moving the item to this new license plate (Container) you need to first scan the location and only after that scan the license plate which tags the license plate to the location and allows for movement.

2 - Now we will move the stock from the LP 07-21 to the new license plate 'Container 1'
