POST DATED CHECKS D365

Dear Experts,

My client needs to have the post-dated checks in the system, but he just needs to affect the customer account after the check is collected by the bank.

The standard system is effecting the customer account directly once the PDC is received.

is there any way to handle this process.

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi ,

Did you try Bridging posting define on method of payment, that does not hot the actual bank account. It will just hit you customer Credit and Debit "Intrim or Bridge account".

Late once your check is cleared in Bank, you can reverse "Bridge account to Bank account.

This will also help you to perform Bank reco smoothly.

I tried this, but what we need is not effecting the customer in credit till the check is totally collected.

    Hello Rayyan,

To so something like that you would need to modify the system as that is not the standard functionality.

    Best regards,

    Hi Rayyan,

Why don't you use bridge accounts option as suggested by Saurabh as well, that is what dynamics365 has as OOB functionality and it works correctly instead of going for customization route.

    Dear Junaid,

The customer account has to not be effected till the check is collected.

When u use the standard way, the customer account will be charged at the time of receiving check, which is refused in my client approtch.

So the only solution for me is to customize.

Couple of areas I want to highlight here.

-- Even if you have decided to go for customization; how you will record the PDC in system before it is realized? I mean; if the idea is to create the impact directly in customer account only after the check is collected; till then where and how you will record this PDC before it is realized in case if you do not want to use bridge posting?

-- Have you integrated any banking software with D365 which will record the PDC posting in the ERP directly only after the PDC is collected?

    Regards,
    Sourav
