Work orders generated from agreements - Time to/from promised

Dear all,

I'm using agreements to auto-generate work orders. This is working, however- I need the 'time from promised' and 'time to promised' fields to be set on the resulting work orders- which I can't work out how to do!

In my agreement booking set-up record, I'm setting all the optional duration/time related fields (as below):

  • pre booking flexibility
  • post booking flexibility
  • time window start
  • time window end

When my agreement booking date records generate, the 'earliest date' and 'latest date' fields and empty, and subsequently- the work orders relating to them do not have values in the 'time from promised' and 'time to promised' fields. I've got the following questions I hope you guys can help with...

  1. Am I correct that the 'earliest date' and 'latest date' fields on the agreement booking date are used to set the 'time from promised' and 'time to promised' fields on the work order?
  2. If my above assumption is correct, how can I get the earliest date and latest date fields to populate on agreement booking dates.

Thanks in advance!

While agreements won't directly update the Time From/To Promised fields, they can be made to populate the Date Window Start/End fields which will be respected by the scheduling logic. To do this, set the Pre and Post Booking flexibility. These fields will be used to calculate the Date Window Start/End related to the ideal Booking Date.

Alternatively, you can use the Field Service SLA functionality to drive the Time From/To Promised fields, specifically, you will just need to set up your SLA to apply to the work orders automatically on WO creation.

Thanks- that thread confirms that 'time from promised' and 'time to promised' won't be set OOTB via the agreements process- however; it looks like my 'earliest date' and 'latest date' fields should be populated. If anyone knows which process is supposed to do that- that would be great!

    Hi

    See this post https://community.dynamics.com/365/fieldservice/f/dynamics-365-for-field-service-forum/287973/work-orders---time-and-date-start-and-end-window-and-promised-fields?pifragment-93937=1

It may be related to scheduling however never worked it out and the post explains how the agreement dates and times transition to the WO.
