Can't retrieve personalization from another user

After when I saved a personalized form then settings applies to current form, I don't need to close and open the form again.

When using Retrieve from User option - there isn't change anything after selection only changes the selection screen form greyed out. When closing the form and open again nothing changes.

Do you know whether this feature relates to any Security settings or parameter because I cannot find anything in TechNet documentation?

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Pal

Resetting usage data is removing the personalization too since they are sitting in SysLastValue table, do not do that.

The Personalization form (SysSetupForm) is tied to the SystemUser security role, which should be set for any regular AX user accounts anyway. Do you have that configured?

You need to be logged on with the user account to AX with which you would like to get the Personalization for. The user account must have access to the tables involved in order to see the changes through security roles.

    Hi Vilmos,

    Thanks for your reply!

When the User try to load previously saved Personalizations then system not updates the screen.

If I use Retrieve option I can see the previously saved forms from other users but when I loading any that won't change any personalization on my screen.

That's why I am asking in the starting of this post whether Personalization connects to any Security settings.

I hope I can give you a bit detailed resolution!

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,

    Pal

    Hi Pal,

If you have made some personalization changes already in your screen, just reset back to original and save it. Then, retrieve the personalization changes from other user.

    Thanks,

    Hi Muthusamy,

I am a bit confused because Vilmos above mentioned that to not used the Reset function:

"Resetting usage data is removing the personalization too since they are sitting in SysLastValue table, do not do that."

I saw this in another topic as well:

    Hi Pal,

I didn't mean to reset the usage data.

I meant to reset the personalization changes in the form which you have tried to retrieve the changes from other user.

When you reset the form, it will change the form view from current changes to as per form design view.

So, Reset the existing changes in the your form and then retrieve the changes from other user.

    Thanks,

Thank you Vilmos !!! I've been having an issue with only one user not being able to personalize forms. After reading your answer, and realizing this function is a part of "SystemUser" role, I found out that specific user was assigned to a wrong organization for that role.
