Product Builder generating a new item number every time

Hi,

We are using Product Builder extensively (AX 2009) and go through many iterations of re-configuring items, which generates a new item every time.

This is now starting to fill up our item details table in such a way that we start to see performance issues.

Has anybody done changes before in AX to avoid this item renumbering or do you have any other suggestions?

I also heard of a product IDMF (Intelligent Data management Framework) that allows you to  clean up AX data. Does anybody have experience with that product?

Bart Couvreur.

    Hi,

I think it is only the BOM and Item price that you might be interested when you configure item.

To prevent the process creating new items each time, try uncheck the Generate Items check box on Generate Items and Dimensions on Setup button on Product model form.

    Hope this helps

    BR,

    Shailesh
