Unable to send journey emails a test

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a customer insight trial. I've created a few trigger-based journeys, linked them up, and added emails. Now, I want to test these emails by sending them to my personal email to see how they look.

However, during my research, I found that I might be missing the default domain from the email that comes with trial accounts, which is necessary for test sending. Currently, the "From" email address is 'xxxx@vcll2.onmicrosoft.com', and I don't have an authenticated domain for 'vcll2.onmicrosoft.com'. The default domain name should be in the settings under the Email Marketing section, but it's not showing up as expected.

I found a table called 'Default Settings,' so I added an email in the 'Default From Email' field and used it as the sender address. That seemed to work initially, but now all emails are going to blocked delivery. The error message I'm receiving is 'Invalid Sender Address.'

I've tried using both the trial account email and my personal email as the sender, but the same issue persists.

Could you please advise on any possible solutions?

    Hi,

you can find the default domain in your trial in the domain authentication records. I do it in the same way on my trial environment:
Go to the settings of the marketing app and open the domains. there should be one record. Open it and copy the domain. It should look like this:

The you can use a sender in your emails like newsletter@unq6264bb5a234be....s05.dyn365mktg.com. It's always a very cryptic domain. So that is normal for trials.

The default setting you mention are not useful here as they only apply to outbound marketing. If you want to set a default sender you can do this by configuring a brand profile.

Hope this helps! If yes, please select Yes under "Did this answer your question?". Thank you :)
