Hi

I try to connect AX client from my local PC to AOS instance in VM Azure, but I get error said :"server is unavailable.check your configuration and network"

My DNS name : ax2012r3ademo.cloudapp.net

AOS configuration : protocol : TCP; public port : 8101

I already try psping and get message :

this operation returned because the timeout period expired

How to solve this ?

    Hello Pramudita!

Have you configured your Azure to Allow connection through this port?

    Hi,

Don't forget that both your local machine and Azure VM must be in the same Active Directory domain.

    Hi

I check that's already allowed. I compare configuration in port 8101 with configuration in other ports (80 and 443 which I can psping them successfully) is same

Do I missing check in other part ?

    Hi Oleg

My local machine and Azure VM already in same AD domain.

I can psping for endpoints public port 80 (http), 443 (https) and 50574 (remote desktop) successfully

but for others (e.g. port 8101 (AOS), port 5986 (PowerShell) still failed

What about the Windows Server Firewall? Is it ok?

    Hi,

Actually I never tried to use the "endpoints" for accessing AOS running in Azure, but the PowerShell Remoting normally works fine. Probably some firewall is blocking (on your network provider side, your local machine or on the VM?)

I would recommend to configure the Point-To-Site VPN. It does not take much time and always works for me.

Btw, don't forget that you if you are trying to connect to AX 2012 AOS then you need 3 TCP ports:

    •  NetTCP, default value 8201
    •  RPC, default value 2712
    •  WSDL, default value 8101

    Hi

WF looks like fine too. in Inbound Rule > Files and Printer Sharing (Echo Request) already enable too. I already add port 8101 in Inbound Rule too

    Hi Oleg

"Probably some firewall is blocking (on your network provider side, your local machine or on the VM?)" --> How I can check this ? I see in WF in my local machine and VM, its seems looks fine.

    Regards

    Maya
