Is it possible to create a billing schedule from sales orders instead of the current subscription billing process where the sales order is generated from the billing schedule?
I have the same question (0)

No there is no ability as of Version 43 to create the SBS schedule from a Sales Order or Quote.  I have created this IDEA. please go vote for it and maybe in a future version MS will develop this feature. https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=460b534f-7f1c-f011-9d47-7c1e52f90348

    Hi Hana,

    Thanks for the useful information.

I was wondering if there is a way to use Subscription billing with Project Operations. For example, if the sales order will be created in Project Operations (CE) and I want to create a subscription billing schedule for it, is that possible at the moment?

    Hi,
By querying relevant documents, it is found that the system can only create sales orders from the billing schedule, which is the standard behavior of the system.

If you want to use multiple billing schedules in one sales order, you can use the option on the consolidation FastTab to merge multiple billing schedule lines when billing plans are created in the sales order. As shown in the screenshot:

For detailed information, you can selectively view this article:
Generate invoices from billing schedules - Finance | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

Also, I tried looking for a button to create a billing plan from a sales order in the test environment but couldn't find it. The system allows: create a delivery plan in the sales order.

    Best Regards,
    Hana
