Account structure P&L Gen cannot be deleted because it is in use by the general journal in ledger D33. You must first update the general journal

Hi,

I have the following situation:

The customer wants to use new Financial Dimensions and must therefore setup a new account strcucture. This has been done and I want to remove the old P&L account strcture in the General Ledger Module -> Ledger Setup -> Ledger. When I try to do this I get many warning messages. I was able to get rid of some of these messages. But not the 3 messages below in the screenshot. Does anyone know what to do here? Espeacially the third message. There are no unposted General journals. I have checked that under General Ledger module -> Deneral Journals. In the "General Ledger Module -> Ledger Setup -> Ledger -> Accounts for currency revaluation tab" I have removed all main accounts which are related to the P&L account strucure which I want to remove. But as you can see below, it does not help.

Regarding the other two messages. I have found this in the forum, we had already a similar problem a few years ago: (+) Account structure can't be removed due to unposted source documents - Microsoft Dynamics AX Forum Community Forum

Unfortunately, as you can see on that page, Microsoft has nothing changed since then. The second message above is still the same. I have removed all unposted journal entries - with the exception of the invoice pool. But that doesn't count as a journal.

Can anyone help me here please?

Hi Schewa,

I do assume, you checked the journals in the correct legal entity? Can you check if there are orphaned records in the LedgerJournalTrans table? (Records without a header)?

Otherwise, I would suggest to log an incident for Microsoft Support.

Hello Schewa,

If you cannot get rid of the old / existing account structure, have you tried modifying the old / existing account structure and adjust it in the way required?

Hi, thanks for the quick answer. No there were no orphaned records in that table. I have checked that. The message was still there.

But I have asked a developer to use the skript mentioned in the link above. That worked and the error message was gone. Well, at least in the DevBox. We have to do that also in the UAT environment.

Hi, we want to use more Financial dimensions for the same range of main accounts. That is why we have to configure a new account structure.
