Variance column with normal formula and percentage calculation

Hi guys,

I have a financial summary report with the following criteria per contract:

The variance column is (Actual less Budget), but the contribution margin % row should be (Contribution margin divided by Revenue) to still get an accurate %

How do I configure this in MR?

Hi Amanda,

In the report definition, click on the Settings tab. Then change the Calculation Priority to 'Perform column calculations first and then row'. That should give you the correct amount for the Contribution Margin % row. I tested it and got the correct amount.

Thanks so much for the help previously, changing the settings to "Perform column calculations first then row" helped.

BUT now I have another issue.

Within the same report I want to now add a % variance against the Variance column.

My calculation in the column definition is IF C>0 THEN E/C ELSE 1.0 [C being FY20-Q3F forecast and E being the variance column]

I get the correct answer against the Contribution Margin % line, but the other percentages just doesn't show, no matter what I try.

Your help is again highly appreciated!
