Hi!
I was wondering if anyone has implemented Item Variants in Production Forecast.
Modifying Production Forecast table structure to add "Variant Code" field and include it in Primary key is easy, but what I am really concern about is how to implement it in MRP routines in order to calculate the right quantities to produce.
A good friend told me: how about creating a phantom sales blanket order to a fathom customer with all variants and leave MRP routines "intact"...
I am not worried about creating a "fake" process to structure for this Sales Blanket Order but I wish not to mess too much with sales headers and stuff.
What do you think?

Unfortunately Item Variants are not supported in Production Forecast and modifying the ERP is not so easy. The idea of using a fake Sales Order could be an interesting solution. It’s quite easy to create a Sales Order via code (few lines of code) and this order enters in the standard forecast routine.
