    Hi,

I recommend you to check the user's security role to access the SharePoint sites.

The following link solved a pronlem similar to yours.

Solved: SharePoint access - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

You can determine the permission level that the user should have on the site. Please refer to the link below.

Access Denied or You need permission to access this site - SharePoint | Microsoft Learn

    Hello Maulik,

Good day. Thanks. Permission was checked and user has system admin and appropriate security roles needed. Do you have any additional advise how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Glenn

    Hi All,

Security Group creation and assigning appropriate security roles did not fix the issue. Do we have any other option/configuration to check?

    Thanks,

    GCE

    Hello Glen,

This error message usually means that you do not have the required permissions to access the files in that SharePoint library. To resolve this issue, you will need to contact either your Microsoft team owner or SharePoint administrator to grant you access to the files.

But manually granting document access permissions in SharePoint can be time-consuming and prone to human error. One possible solution to this issue could be to use a third-party app which sync’s security privileges from Dynamics CRM to SharePoint.

SharePoint Security Sync by Inogic is a Microsoft AppSource preferred app for synching Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM security privileges to SharePoint. It auto-syncs document access permission from Dynamics 365 CRM to SharePoint. This proves helpful in ensuring that users have the appropriate permissions to access the files they need in SharePoint.

SharePoint Security Sync also allows users to move/copy email, notes, and sales literature attachments in bulk to the cloud. It provides users with various other document and storage management features to save Dynamics 365 CRM storage space and costs. You can also resolve SharePoint Document Library Limit by creating custom SharePoint library structures within Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM with this!

Download SharePoint Security Sync for a 15-day free trial from our website or Microsoft AppSource.

    Thanks!

Given that you've already handled the standard security roles and security groups, the error "You don’t have permission to view files in this location" almost certainly points to either:

1 - The user is not (and needs to be) a member of the SharePoint site itself.

Go to Settings, then Site permissions, Advanced permission settings. Check the default groups: Owners, Members, and Visitors. The affected user or their security group must be in at least the Members group. For full control, add them to the Owners group.

2 - The permissions of the specific document library have been broken or overridden.
You must grant permissions directly to this library. You can either add the user/group here or click "Delete unique permissions" to re-inherit from the parent site (this can be a bit dangerous; use with caution).

    For more see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/sites/determine-permission-levels-and-groups-in-sharepoint-server

On the other hand, if you are considering a solution like the above-mentioned SharePoint Security Sync, I would say CB Dynamics 365 to SharePoint Permissions Replicator by Connecting Software would be the best option, because it is more robust, handles edge cases better, and support is done by people who really know the product and how to handle any tricky situations.

    hi
Navigate to Settings → Site Permissions → Advanced Permission Settings. Review the default groups: Owners, Members, and Visitors. Ensure that the affected user or their security group is included in at least the Members group. To grant full control, add them to the Owners group.

This error typically means that the user doesn’t have the necessary permissions to access the files in the SharePoint library connected to Business Central. To resolve this, the Microsoft Teams owner or SharePoint administrator must grant proper access rights to the affected user for the SharePoint site or document library. Additionally, check if the user has the correct permissions within Dynamics 365 roles on SharePoint Sites and Document Locations tables, as missing these can also cause access issues. If permissions appear correct and issues persist, verify that user IDs in Azure Active Directory and Dynamics 365 match without mismatches causing access denial.

    Thanks
