The "Marketing Event Registration Created" trigger

Seems the Marketing Event Registration Created trigger doesn't allow/enable comparison of Event Registration Date (createdon) and Event Start Date

I would expect an attribute branch, like the one below, to be able to understand the event start date from the upstream trigger, enabling me to stop sending confirmation emails if a registration is past the start date of the event specified in the trigger (of if no event specified, the start date of the event registered for)


 
In the Attribute tile, it seems I can only punch in an actual date – or select a relative date (unrelated to the event - which reduces the usability of the trigger heavily)



What would be relevant here is the ability to set a condition like: Event Registration Created On is before Event Start Date
 
Am I doing something wrong, or is this trigger not really there yet?
