Dynamics 365 (on-premise) v9.1.21.5
SharePoint 2016 (on-premise)
Hello All,
Attempting to set up Server-Based SharePoint Integration. During the site validation step, the validation fails and we get a pop-up error -
/Unexpected Error - an error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community for solutions, or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support/ .
The Download Log File prompt is greyed out, and the Show technical details link does nothing.
After OK'ing the error, the Validate Sites page shows Validation Status: Failed and the site status shows Invalid. But there is no Error Log link. So not a lot to go on.
- The account I'm using is CRM SystemAdmin, and SharePoint SiteOwner (but not SharePoint SiteAdmin)
- The user record in CRM has the SharePoint Email populated, and matching the email field in my SharePoint Profile
This system was recently upgraded from Dynamics CRM 2013, where it was connected to SharePoint2013 using the List Component. As a 9.1 system, it is still using the SP2013 integration.
- Before running the Server-Based SharePoint wizard, the existing SharePoint Site record was deactivated.
- No DocumentLocation records have an AbsoluteURL value
- The SharePoint 2016 site we're attempting to connect is a new install, not an upgrade of the SP2013.
The error specifically happens when attempting to validate the SP2016 site where we registered CE. If we run the validation step with a random URL we get the normal /Invalid/ result with an error log.
