
The send-now feature only supports dynamic content that doesn't include relations. Please remove any dynamic content that uses a relation or send the message using a standard customer journey.
Is there any way around this as we want to avoid having to create a Customer Journey each time we want to send an email out to event bookers. The email would contain their Event Registration code.

I am a bit confused with the info. What is the main issue to be solved ?
- Testing your emails with all the Dynamics content + Relations ? or
- Creating a automated process to send out the email to event participants?
If it is the second one,
You can create a Dynamic Segment that references the Event name or ID and use that in Customer Journey that sends out the email.
