AzureAD, Windows 10 & Dynamics AX 2012 R3 (Unable to log in)

Hello everyone,

We're working on a global roll-out of Windows 10 in our company, and have in our pilot-rollout now discovered, that Windows 10 machines that is AzureAD joined, does not get permission to log in to Dynamics AX 2012 R3, with the locally installed client.

Access to other local resources works fine (Network drives on local fileservers, printers, etc etc), so authentication is being passed on from AzureAD to our on-premise AD fine.

We can also access the AX environment, if we do so by logging in to a local RDS/Terminal Server and start up the AX client from there... But, the AX client that is installed locally... that just doesn't work.

We've conferred with one of the largest ERP consultant houses here in Denmark.. even they can't figure it out - which is why I'm now reaching out to you guys.

- Do any of you have experience with this particular scenario - and have made it work?

I'll welcome any help and guidance in this matter.

Tjamls-

I have the same issue with issue with Dynamics AX 2009. Did you find a solution for using AX on Azure AD joined machines?

When you try to login, do you get any errors or can find related Windows events on the client or on the AOS machine?

Back in time, we had same kind of issue with NAV installation as we found The root cause for the issue is we are not getting the same SID in Azure as your local AD, you can verify it by comparing user  SID's. If you are configured Azure AD Sync with Local AD you may need to enable some of the additional Settings /parameters or else change/Replace User's SID inside AX.

    Refer to this: docs.microsoft.com/.../synchronization

Check and confirm your Azure AD account holds Onprem User SID ' in SID History.

    also just refer: docs.microsoft.com/.../how-to-connect-install-custom

to configure/ Verify your AD Sync.
