GL Summary window has a different balance for period 12 and 13 then GL Detail inquiry

The GL Detail inquiry matches the checkbook balance of $1,050,725.02 AND the final number on the GL Summary Inquiry window matches….but the period 12 and 13 are off by $1,000. I’m just confused why the summary window and GL Detail window would have different balances? ALSO – want to make verify WHICH balance will be the one rolling forward into the next fiscal year.

Assuming Detail Inquiry is correct and you have history marked in GL Setup, you need to reconcile the financial year at Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Utilities > Financial > Reconcile. Note: This utility does not report any errors found; it just updates the Summary period totals to match the Detail. Therefore, run via Test Company/after a valid SQL backup if you are new to the process.
