Changing Account Ownership

Posted on by 23
If a salesperson leaves and the account owner is transferred to a new salesperson, is there a way to ONLY change the ACCOUNT ownership and not all of the Won opportunities associated with it?

    Hi Partner,
    Yes, you can.
1.Why related opportunities also reassigned when you reassign parent account?
--Because the default relationship behavior between accounts and opportunities is 'Parental'.
2.Please refer to the following steps to change it:
1)Go to settings > Customizations > Customize the system
    2)Entities > Account > 1:N relationship:
3)Find the Account to Opportunity relationship and double click to open it.
---In the Relationship window, find the Type of Behavior field, which is currently set to Parental.
--Change this option to Configurable Cascading.
---We recommend changing the Assign option to either Cascade None or to Cascade Active.
Cascade None- no Phone Calls would be reassigned when the Account is reassigned.
Cascade Active- only Phone Calls that are Active at the time of assignment would be reassigned to the new Owner. This option may be helpful if you are reassigning Accounts due to someone leaving the company.
