Case Management number sequence AX 2012

We would like to start using case management to track our AX issues but at the moment I can't get the number sequence to allocate.  We have upgraded from AX2009 to AX2012 R2.

If I set up a number sequence and add the reference of Basic / CaseId it gives an error - Cannot create a record in Number sequence references (NumberSequenceReference). Datatype number sequence properties:  6370, CaseId.  The record already exists.

I can see this record in the NumberSequenceDataType table.

But I cannot add a new case (Home ->All Cases -> New) because I get an error saying the number sequence doesn't exist.  I cannot see in any parameters where to allocate the number sequence to the case Id.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

Paulina

    Hi Paulina,

The number sequence should be linked on the Legal Entity form per legal entity. Adding the reference on the Number sequence indeed gives this error. There are some number sequence references in AX which are not possible to link in severel forms like parameters or the legal entity. In that case the reference can be added on the Number sequence.

In this case the Case ID number sequence is maintained on the Legal entity form.

Please review the number Sequence list in Organization Administration module

on number sequence form check number sequence under Basic Area

If Case ID number sequence is not available try to generate the left over number sequence

Please verify and update us with your findings
