Approve button not visible on Time off Request Form

Hi All,

The approve button on the Time off request form is not visible even when the Record is in Active state and the user is assigned Field Service- Admin and Field Service- Dispatcher. The 'Time off Approval Required' for the resource is also set to Yes. Only when I assign System Admin role to the user the Approve button is visible, but I believe this should not be the case. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Can you double check if the button is not being hidden using the Ribbon Workbench?

    Hi Allan,

I have disabled the field security profile for msdyn_approvedby and still can't see the Approve button. I have assigned the roles according to the documentation too.

    Thanks,

    Kavita

    Hi @KavitaSaini1983,

Thanks for reaching out and for the details as to what you’ve checked to-date as it appears you have configured the security role as per following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/submit-approve-time-off-requests#:~:text=If%20the%20related%20resource%20requires,dispatcher%20can%20approve%20the%20request.&text=From%20the%20main%20menu%2C%20go%20to%20Field%20Service%20%3E%20Time%20Off,of%20unapproved%20time%2Doff%20requests.

Not sure if you have any Field Security Profiles in place.  Mentioning this because if the impacted users are assigned to a Team and the Team is assigned to the Field Security Profiles, then this may be your issue i.e. the privilege may not be cascading down when the Field Security Profile is added to teams and thus we need to add the user to cascade the privilege.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/add-teams-users-field-security-profile

You may find Time Off Request attribute msdyn_approvedby has Field Security set to enabled and this may be why non-admin users are not seeing the button so something else to explore and check.

    Cheers,

    Allan
